These days, so many large and small businesses and other entities are moving from traditional server rooms full of tons of separate machines to smaller servers that use virtual machines. These virtual machines save both space and time, since they take less upkeep and fewer information technology people to keep the systems up-to-date. This new technology is great, but new technology always comes with its own quirks.

One of the quirks that people have been dealing with when they use virtual machines is backup for the machines. Traditionally, backup has meant that you have one machine’s information copied onto a second machine. Then if the first machine crashes, you can use the data from its backup system. This is all fine and good, but it creates a problem with VMware. You can use a backup solution that relies on new virtual machines, for which you have to have even more hosts, but this requires hardware and software, which is what you’re supposed to be cutting back on with VMware in general.

Instead of these old systems, you can now use ESX data recovery, which runs virtually just like VMware does in the first place. This type of solution works without software and hardware, and it runs on the virtual machines that you already have. Instead of backing up all of your files multiple times, which just requires more space – whether virtual or not – this type of system makes sure there isn’t any duplication so that everything runs more smoothly and efficiently.

Because this type of system doesn’t work with hardware and software, it is a whole lot quicker than other backup solutions. For one thing, it allows you to back up multiple virtual machines at one time, and it also allows for simultaneous backup and recovery, so you never get stuck waiting for a system reload again.
